The figure depicted on the vase is Triptolemos.

In Greek mythology, Triptolemos is the hero who taught humanity agriculture, specifically how to grow wheat. He's one of the most devoted emissaries of Demeter, the goddess of harvest and fertility, and one of the first priests of the Eleusinian Mysteries, one of Ancient Greece's most prominent religious cults.

According to legend, when Hades, the god of the underworld, abducted Demeter's daughter Persephone, the grief-stricken goddess set out on a journey to find her. Disguised as an elderly mortal woman, she arrived at the city of Eleusis, near Athens. King Celeus of Eleusis and his wife, Queen Metaneira, opened their home to this unknown old woman and showed her immense hospitality.

To repay the family for their kindness, Demeter wanted to give them a gift. She taught one of their sons,Triptolemos, how to cultivate the land and grow crops from seeds. The goddess didn't just share her agricultural knowledge; she also gave him a magical flying chariot drawn by winged serpents. Riding this chariot, Triptolemos traveled to every corner of the earth.Wherever he went, he taught people how to sow seeds, harvest crops, and grow wheat. According to the myth, it's thanks to his mission that humanity learned the arts of agriculture. After fulfilling his mission across the world, Triptolemos returned to Eleusis and became one of the founding priests of the Eleusinian Mysteries, one of the most secretive ancient rituals celebrating the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

In Ancient Greek art, Triptolemos is most often depicted as a young man seated in a winged chariot, holding ears of wheat in one hand and a scepter or a bowl in the other.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0803/7315/4051/files/triptolemos-ultra-soft-premium-cotton-t-shirt-5282737.jpg?v=1784705172
