Fighting Fauns by Franz von Stuck
Museum-grade paper. Archival pigment inks. Zero glare.
*Requires framing.

Art Prints
Our giclee art prints are produced on heavyweight 200gsm matte art paper chosen for its smooth, non-reflective surface. Unlike glossy prints that throw back reflections from windows and overhead lights, the matte finish scatters light evenly across the sheet, so the artwork reads clearly from every angle and in any room.
Each print is made with archival pigment inks laid down by precision giclee printers, the same technology trusted by museums and limited-edition print studios. The result is deep, stable color with fine tonal transitions that hold their intensity for decades when displayed indoors away from direct sunlight.
The paper itself is museum grade: acid-free, lignin-free, and manufactured to resist yellowing and embrittlement over time. Ships unframed in a protective roll, ready to be framed.
*Frame is not included with this option.
A snow white mat. A refined presentation.Matte fine art paper. Archival pigment inks.
*Snow white mat, solid wood frame and hanging hardware included.

Matted Fine Art Prints
Printed on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Art (EMA) paper, with a smooth matte surface. Fine-art giclée printing with archival pigment inks preserves delicate colour transitions and the character of the artwork.
A separate Snow white mat with a bevelled opening gives the artwork a generous border and space within the frame. It is a physical mat board, not a white border printed on the artwork.
Finished in a solid wood Classic frame with acrylic glazing and supplied ready to hang. Choose from eight frame finishes, with Black as our default.
Sizing and delivery
The selected size describes the glazing area, including the mat. The outer frame is larger. The artwork size is shown separately below the size selector.
US orders use the stated inch dimensions. UK and EU orders use centimetre dimensions. A narrow edge of the print sits beneath the mat. Room scenes are illustrative.
Locally produced for delivery in the United States, United Kingdom and supported European Union destinations. Not available for Australia, Canada or Cyprus. The 20×28 inch / 50×70 cm size is not available for Malta.
Hand-stretched on FSC pine. Greenguard Gold inks. Ready to hang.
*Ready to hang out of the box.

Gallery Canvas
Each canvas is printed on a 333 g/m² cotton-polyester composite with a proprietary coating that produces deep blacks, rich saturation, and accurate tonal transitions. The matte finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, eliminating glare from windows and overhead lighting so the artwork stays readable from any position in the room.
The inks are HP Latex, UL GREENGUARD GOLD certified. This means the inks meet the same air quality standards required in hospitals, schools, and nurseries. Non-toxic, odor-free, and safe for any room in your home. HP rates them for up to 200 years of fade resistance indoors, away from direct sunlight.
The canvas is gallery-wrapped by hand over a 1.25 inch (3.2 cm) radiata pine stretcher bar sourced from FSC-certified renewable forests. The wood is kiln-dried, knot-free, and warp-free, engineered to hold tension without sagging over time. A sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers come pre-installed on the back, so the piece is ready to hang the moment it arrives.
*No framing required.
Solid wood floater frame. Floating reveal. Gallery-ready.
*Available on the framed canvas option.

Framed Canvas
The floater frame is milled from solid wood with a matte finish that absorbs light instead of bouncing it back. Unlike glossy mouldings that pick up room reflections, the matte finish keeps attention on the artwork.
The frame sits slightly outside the canvas edge, creating a clean 0.5-inch floating reveal. This gap gives the wrapped canvas a suspended, weightless look, the same presentation used in contemporary galleries and museum installations.
Inside the frame, the canvas is the same 333 g/m² cotton-polyester composite printed with HP Latex GREENGUARD GOLD inks, hand-stretched over FSC-certified radiata pine. Every piece ships with hanging hardware pre-installed.
*Available on the framed canvas option.
Franz von Stuck (1863–1928) was a German painter, sculptor and graphic artist, born in Tettenweis in Lower Bavaria. From 1878 he studied at the Munich School of Applied Arts under Ferdinand Barth, and in 1881 he moved to the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied with Wilhelm Lindenschmit and Ludwig Löfftz. He first became known for the print portfolios Allegorien und Embleme and for humorous drawings in the Munich magazine Fliegende Blätter. His breakthrough as a painter came at the 1889 exhibition in the Munich Glaspalast, where The Guardian of Paradise won a medal. In 1892 he was among the founding members of the Munich Secession, and in 1895 he became a professor at the Munich Academy, where his roughly 150 students included Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Josef Albers. In 1897 he began building the Villa Stuck in Munich. He died in Munich on August 30, 1928.
Fighting Fauns (Kämpfende Faune) is an oil on panel painted in 1898 and signed "FRANZ STUCK" at lower right. It measures 57 x 80 cm (22.4 x 31.4 in.). It is recorded as no. 184/100 in Heinrich Voss's 1973 catalogue of Stuck's paintings. The panel belonged to the collector Fritz Reimann in Elberfeld and, from 1908 to 1956, to the Städtisches Museum Elberfeld/Barmen before passing into private collections. It was sold as lot 356 in the Ketterer Kunst sale 19th Century Art in Munich on December 9, 2023. An earlier version of the subject, dated 1889, is in the Neue Pinakothek, Munich.
